METG Festival Semifinals 2014

2014 The Massachusetts High School Festival (Massachusetts Educational Drama Guild) includes 115 one-act plays produced by member high schools. Norwood High School will be one of several hosts for the second level of the competition — semi-finals. Student excellence in acting and technical design is recognized at each level, including the selection of an All-Star Company at the finals. Two schools chosen at the State Festival will represent Massachusetts in the New England Drama Festival, the regional showcase of secondary school theatre.

State Finals – Thursday – Saturday, March 27 – 29 2014
New England Festival – Tuesday – Thursday April 15 – 17 2014 (St. Johnsbury Academy, St. Johnsbury VT)

The Massachusetts High School Festival is the METG’s premier event. The festival includes 115 one-act plays produced by member high schools. The competition is organized on three levels – preliminary, semi-final and state. Student excellence in acting and technical design is recognized at each level, including the selection of an All-Star Company at the finals.

Norwood Drama performs Mary Chase’s Pulitzer Prize–winning comedy, Harvey.

Sweet, charming, and kind Elwood P. Dowd has one flaw — his friendship with six-foot-tall, invisible rabbit, Harvey — in this comedy about losing your mind and finding your real (and imaginary), true friends.

Norwood Haunted Tour 2013: November 2nd and 3rd every 30 min. from 6 – 9pm

Stops along the route include town landmarks and historical homes at which the tour guides artfully present a mixture of historical facts and fictional stories based on local legends of the town.

The tours will take place November 2nd and 3rd, leaving from the Town Common every 30 minutes starting promptly at 6pm until the last tour at 9pm and lasting approximately 1 hour. Bring your flashlight!

Admission $10, student special: 2 for 1. Register at the Town Common on the day of the tours OR, to reserve a spot, please call Darlene Turchetta at 781-440-0640. Proceeds to benefit Norwood High School Drama.
