Auditions: New Prospect Players’ Fall One-Acts

New Prospect Players announces auditions for Fall One Acts.

Having just completed a successful production of “The Man Who Came to Dinner” The New Prospect Players now begin production of their third annual series of one acts. Plays include unpublished scripts by local and regional authors along with “Sure Thing” by David Ives and “For Whom the Southern Belle Tolls” by Christopher Durang. Performances are Thursday, Friday and Saturday; October 2, 3, & 4.

Open to all community members! Prepare for cold readings from the scripts. Auditions will take place Tuesday and Wednesday, July 15 & 16, starting at 7pm, at the Savage Educational Center Theatre at 275 Prospect St., Norwood, MA. For more information, contact Jonathan Cardoni at 617-763-7190.

Grease: cast announced!

Written by Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey, directed by John Quinn and Laura Henry, with musical direction by Ashley Nelson, Norwood High School’s production of GREASE will rock (and roll) Norwood’s Savage Center next Fall. Francis Sheehan is stage manager, choral captain is Jessica Motta, and dance captain is Katie Brown. Norwood Drama announces the cast below, including the next Danny, Sandy, Burger Palace Boys, the Pink Ladies, and the rest of Rydell High’s hand-jiving squares, greasers, alumni, staff, and visitors.

    Grease: callbacks

    Congratulations! We look forward to seeing ALL who auditioned perform in our show. With so much great talent, casting several of the roles is a tough call for Laura and me, and we’d like to see several of you once again (callbacks) as we consider your acting, singing, and dancing abilities for the following roles.

    This is not a final list at all — this is simply the callback notice: you may see your name listed more than once, and once we see you again, we may consider you for yet another part. We may double-cast the primary female leads and some of the men’s roles as well, allowing multiple people to perform lead roles in alternating shows, although all cast members will participate in all six of the shows.

    Sandy Dombrowski— Wholesome, pure, kind, and innocent. New to Rydell High. She’s doesn’t smoke or drink. Falls in love with Danny Zuko over the holidays. (soprano)

    AUDITIONS:

    • singing auditions: May 20th from 4—7:30pm (please be prepared to sing musical pieces from the show)
    • full cast dance auditions: May 22nd from 2:30—4:30pm (required for all potential cast members)
    • callbacks: May 23rd from 4—6pm

    The Man Who Came to Dinner: Auditions

    A comedy in three acts written by George S. Kaufman and Moss Hart, directed by Dean Calusdian, and produced by the New Prospect Players, “The Man Who Came to Dinner” will be performed on June 19th, 20th, 21st at Norwood’s Savage Center.

    AUDITIONS: Actors will perform cold readings from the script.

    April 1st and 2nd from 7 – 9pm.

    PERFORMANCES:

    June 19th, June 20th, June 21st at 7pm
